9. Darcy - Green Room
Nothing tees a character up to be hated, especially in horror, than a good old-fashioned skinhead. And Patrick Stewart nailed it as the leader of a particularly nasty group of neo-Nazis in A24's Green Room.
What makes Stewarts' performance in this movie so entertainingly hateable is the simple fact that at no point does this dude come off as some kind of mastermind. Oh, he's dangerous, to be sure, but Patrick Stewart plays this Neo-Nazi bastard more similar to Robert Duvall in True Grit. He comes off as more having been dragged into this mess by his moronic subordinates. Which of course makes it all the more dangerous to deal with him as he just wants this whole mess to go away as fast as possible.
You see Darcy just savage our poor idiot protagonists, his Nazi cronies picking each one off one by one, until finally, the remaining two catch him unaware and put him down. Always fun to see a Nazi get his.
