The reason you hate Sebastian Stan's Brendan so much in Fresh is that, originally, he makes you like him. This flick starts with Brendan (who refers to himself as "Steve" at this point) meeting Daisy Edgar Jones' Noa, as the two unexpectedly hit it off, enjoying a couple of dates together and eventually agreeing to a short vacation stay at Brendan's place.

For this whole first act Brendan seems like a nice guy - charming, sexy, affable, and a little bit of a loser - which makes it all the worst when it turns out that he's a total psychopath who kidnaps women and slowly carves up their meat to sell to high-paying clients.

Noa is his latest victim, and Sebastian Stan expertly twists his previously likeable performance to embody the true side of this sicko. The way he treats the women, cutting them up with glee, is truly demented, but nothing makes him more loathsome than the fact that he genuinely falls in love with Noa. He starts treating her like she's his girlfriend, believing she likes him back.

This makes it all the more satisfying when Noa bites his penis off and eventually kills him (with the help of the other women he had tormented). Honestly, it's a brutal death, but still not quite dark enough for this freak.
