10 Horror Movie Characters You Thought Were Dead For Sure

Ask just about anyone and they'll tell you that Scream 4's breakout character was the sassy film nerd Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere).

And so, many were left devastated when she was seemingly stabbed to death by one of the two Ghostface killers, Charlie Walker (Rory Culkin), near the end of the movie.

Now in fairness, many fans did note that Kirby hadn't yet expired when we last saw her - even though she did seem to be bleeding out from her injuries - and so hoped that she might return for the fifth film.

But when Hayden Panettiere wasn't announced as being part of Scream 2022's cast, it seemed like all hope for Kirby being alive was, well, dead.

Yet in a joyous twist of fate, the newest Scream slyly revealed that Kirby did indeed survive being stabbed, when a YouTube thumbnail showed an image of Kirby with the video title "Interview with Woodsboro survivor Kirby Reed."

And better yet, Panettiere has been confirmed to be appearing as Kirby in the recently-wrapped sixth film, where hopefully she'll make it out in one piece.
