10 Horror Movie Deaths That Came Out Of Nowhere

1. Deep Blue Sea - Russell Franklin

Yes, the meme itself has to take top spot, because no other death quite gets that horrible mix of hilarity and stomach-dropping disbelief quite as right as in this potent mix. The ultimate shark movie and masterpiece of monstrous ocean-based horror, Deep Blue Sea is home to the most out of nowhere death you can find in cinema. And it has none other than Samuel L. Jackson taking home the gold.

When a research centre suffers an accident that renders it an explosive mess, a bunch of genetically engineered sharks are set loose to wreak havoc on the workers. Forced deep into the facility as sharks prowl, ready to chomp down on any stragglers, the survivors end up in a room containing an entrance to the water - which good old Jackson decides is a great idea to give a rousing motivational speech in front of.

His character, Russell, does a fantastic job, as the speech is both rousing and motivational. And it would have remained so if a shark hadn't hopped out of the wet entrance, grabbed Jackson between its teeth, and pulled him out to devour at the end of it. Probably should have gotten to the sealing off the room section a bit sooner, really.
