10 Horror Movie Deaths That Could Have Been Avoided

3. Eddie - IT: Chapter 2

Potentially the most heart-breaking entry onto this list, Eddie's death in IT Chapter 2 really did its job with pulling on the heartstrings of audiences that watched this film.

Although not viewed by many as an out-and-out horror, it certainly deserves to be on this list purely for the way it captures the nostalgia of childhood memories. Obviously, it's not hard to understand that the decision behind Eddie's death (other than to cause heartbreak for the audience) was to stay within keeping of the original novel's plot.

Either way, his death easily could’ve been avoided in the actual universe itself. As Eddie is already injured by the time the Losers Club go into the sewers to face Pennywise, the most sensible decision in this scenario would’ve been to leave Eddie at the surface and return to him once they’d defeated the dancing clown.

Despite needing all members of the Loser’s club to defeat Pennywise, at least not even attempting to keep Eddie out of harm’s way in the final act of the movie seemed to be a lapse of judgement amongst the group.
