10 Horror Movie Deaths That Could Have Been Avoided

2. The Entire Family – The Hills Have Eyes

An admirable attempt at a remake, this 2006 reboot of Wes Craven’s original film of the same name really scratches an itch if you’re a fan of gory horror.

This cannibalistic gem follows the trip of Bob and Ethel Carter who are heading to San Diego via the desert, in order to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

As you can probably imagine, heading into the desert where there is literally nobody else for miles around doesn’t really strike much confidence into the heart of the majority of the population.

After stopping for gas and speaking to an elderly shop assistant, they are told about a ‘short-cut’ through the desert. As we learned earlier with “The Ritual”, short cuts are more often than not a terrible idea. After the puncturing of their tyres, the family is slowly picked off one by one along with their dogs, and the culprits?

Mutant cannibals. That live in the hills. If that’s not enough to get you bashing your head against a wall, then what is?
