When an unintentionally hilarious moment occurs in a horror movie, it's usually because of a limited budget, an amateur crew, or an inexperienced director.

That was not the case with The Omen. It was made by Superman director himself, Richard Donner, and had Oscar-winning actor, Gregory Peck, in the lead. Although most horror films are deemed inartistic schlock, The Omen was an instant classic and even bagged an Academy Award.

On top of that, The Omen has the most famous decapitation scene in movie history... but not for the reasons intended.

In the scene in question, an investigator is decapitated by a sheet of glass that flies out of the back of a truck. Although the tone of this film is dead serious, this iconic shot is hilarious due to the blatantly fake head. It also looks silly how no blood spills from the head or body, highlighting further that it's a dummy.

Donner worried viewers might close their eyes the instant the sheet slices through the investigator's neck so he showed this moment in seven shots in slow-motion using five different cameras to ensure the viewer witnessed it. If the shot was shown for a split-second, it could've gotten away with it.
