10 Horror Movie Details You Definitely Missed The First Time
7. Jigsaw's Gun Is Empty - Saw
The original Saw is absolutely packed with upfront details which outline the film's double-whammy plot twist, both that the Jigsaw killer is Dr. Gordon's (Cary Elwes) patient John Kramer (Tobin Bell), and that Kramer has been posing as the "corpse" in the middle of the grotty bathroom all along.
And while the film is an ingeniously engineered exercise that takes audiences totally unawares on a first viewing, repeat watches make it easier to take in every sneaky detail.
Case in point, mid-way through the film, the gun that the man allegedly used to shoot himself in the head is examined and found to be completely empty, which of course wouldn't make sense if he'd actually shot himself. The revolver would contain at least one empty shell casing.
Let's be honest, though: even if you noticed it on an initial viewing, you'd probably brush it off as a sloppy filmmaking mistake on the part of newbie directors rather than an indication that the "dead" guy was actually still alive. After all, which of those two scenarios sounds more plausible?
