10 Horror Movie Details You Definitely Missed The First Time
8. The House Address Is 476 BARBARY Street - Barbarian
Barbarian is without question the year's most buzzed-about horror film, and though the end of the movie leaves the audience to consider which of its characters is the "true" barbarian, there's a neat bout of wordplay related to its title hidden in plain sight that you probably missed.
The doomed Airbnb house that Tess (Georgina Campbell) has booked is actually situated at 476 Barbary Street - as in, barbary = barbarian, get it?
Tess quickly namedrops the address a few times in the movie's opening sequence, yet given that it doesn't seem like a remotely important detail, you couldn't be blamed at all for completely glossing over it.
And in fairness it's hardly a game-changing slither of information, but a cute detail all the same.
As an intriguing cherry on top, though, it's been suggested that the house number, 476, was chosen very deliberately, because Rome fell to the Barbarians in 476 CE. Brilliant.
