10 Horror Movie Douchebags We Love To Hate

1. Guy Woodhouse - Rosemary's Baby (1968)

American Psycho Patrick Bateman 1280 x 720
Paramount Pictures

Upon moving into a new apartment house Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse quickly befriend a pair of eccentric elderly neighbors. With the passage of time, Rosemary begins to fear their neighbors are in fact a coven of witches after her unborn child.

Rosemary's Baby is a textbook example of how a shining, charismatic performance can easily make the viewer overlook some horrendous character traits. John Cassavettes presents Guy Woodhouse as a charming, funny man devoted to his wife and budding career.

As the film progresses, it becomes clear that only the latter is true as it's discovered Guy has allowed his wife to become pregnant with Satan's child in return for great success as an actor... Pretty terrible, right?

However, add to this the fact Guy then allows his wife to believe their baby has died and holds her responsible and you have a genuinely dreadful person. Cassavettes may be charming, but the character is without doubt a deplorable, selfish man willing to sacrifice his wife's sanity as well as several lives for fame and fortune.

Hi! The first thing you should know about me is that I'm a HUGE horror movie nut. A confirmed addict to the WhatCulture Horror YouTube channel I thought I'd try my luck on their writing team. I'm a wannabe author with one completed manuscript submitted to a few agents. Please cross your fingers for me! I am currently working on my second book. If you wanna talk horror or need any movie recommendations, I'm your man! Give me a follow on Instagram... since there doesn't seem to be a section for that in the "socials" tab @that_horror_nerd
