10 Horror Movie Endings That Made You Say WHAT?!

3. Evil Dead (2013)

Even though the Evil Dead trilogy seemingly wrapped in 1992, fans of Sam Raimi's iconic zom-coms wanted more. Much like the Deadites, it seemed like the franchise couldn't stay buried.

So, fans were thrilled when another entry was greenlit in 2013, simply called Evil Dead. Although fans hoped the latest addition would have some direction connection with the original film, 2013's Evil Dead seemed to be a straightforward remake.

But anyone who stuck around to watch the post-credits scenes had a very different thought. After the credits, there is a single shot of the hero of the original films, Ash Williams, saying his catchphrase, "Groovy." before turning to face the camera.

Even though this was probably nothing more than fan-service, many viewers got more excited by this post-credits scene than the movie itself. Many speculated this sequence proved everyone's favourite chainsaw-wielding hero would appear in the sequel, with the producers even discussing the possibility of a sequel that merged the original trilogy with the remake universe.

But it was all for nought. Although Bruce Campbell reprised the role in the tv series, Ash vs the Evil Dead, Ash Williams has yet to appear in another movie, and the 2013 remake never got a follow-up.
