4. The Shining Was Nominated For Two Raspberry Awards
When you think of the greatest directors of all time who comes to mind? Maybe Stanley Kubrick perhaps? If you were to make a list of your all time favorite horror movies would The Shining make your list? This is probably the case if youre a self respecting horror fan. Its hard to believe that upon the release of this iconic movie it was actually nominated for two Raspberry Awards (in recognition of the worst in film), Worst Director for Kubrick and Worst Actress for Shelley Duvall. It didnt win any awards and the legacy is stronger than ever but damn, what were they thinking? The horror genre seems to get no respect award wise.
