10 Horror Movie Franchises That Should Have Stopped At One Film

There is always bated breath from any horror fan when a sequel is delayed again and again. Releasing 10 years after the original, The Strangers: Prey At Night saw the infamous Strangers terrorise a new group of people, this time in a mobile trailer park.

The original film is one of the best home invasion thrillers ever put to screen. The way that director Bryan Bertino creates tension and dread is second to none. All of that is lost in this generic sequel. Prey At Night doesn't have the grit and realism that the original did, and some of that may be down to the setting.

The key to the original is that it felt very relatable. The fear of being alone at night in your home is amplified in that film, making it downright uncomfortable at times. This is all absent in the sequel. Instead, The Strangers: Prey At Night is a basic, bog-standard slasher film.
