9. Micah - Paranormal Activity

Tommy Jarvis Friday The 13th
Paramount Pictures

In Paranormal Activity, Katie tells her partner Micah she senses a dark spirit in their house. This revelation inspires Micah to set up a camera at night to capture footage of any supernatural phenomena.

Straight off the bat, this is a bad idea, since making contact with an evil presence never ends well. Unfortunately, Micah is unable to temper his curiosity, since he keeps interacting with the spectre.

When Katie consults a psychic, Dr. Fredrichs, he tells her the incorporeal force is a demon, meaning she and Micah shouldn't communicate with it unless a demonologist is present.

Instead of leaving the entity alone, Micah uses a Ouija board to speak to it directly. Over time, the demon becomes more aggressive and violent (who knows why?), which compels the couple to seek out Friedrichs again. When he comes to the house, he gets such a negative vibe, he immediately leaves, telling the couple he can no longer help them. If that isn't a wake up call to get out, I don't know what is.

Despite Katie's pleas, Micah refuses to move out. After putting up with the haunting for 21 days, it's no surprise when the demon kills Micah.
