10 Horror Movie Heroes Who Made Everything Worse

8. Melody And Lila - Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

Tommy Jarvis Friday The 13th

2022's Texas Chainsaw Massacre kicks off with a group of Gen-Z contractors selling off property in a rundown burg called Harlow. Lead entrepreneur Melody and her sister Lila enter a derelict orphanage to inform the owner, Ginny, she's being evicted. This causes an argument to break out, which is interrupted by Ginny's carer, Leatherface.

Ginny becomes so agitated, she dies from a heart attack. Enraged, Leatherface whips out his chainsaw and goes on another killing spree.

Now, we obviously want to be on the side of the good guys. And since Lila is a survivor of a school shooting, that's all the more reason why we want to see her and her friends triumph over evil.

But Leatherface's lust for revenge is... kind of justified. Although it wasn't intentional, Melody's actions led to the death of the only person the deranged cannibal cared about. Considering Melody didn't seem to care about kicking this elderly woman out of her house, you don't sympathise for her much.

Still, it gets worse. Leatherface's killings grab the attention of the Final Girl from the first film, Sally Hardesty. Eager to exact her revenge on her tormentor from long ago, Sally rushes to Harlow as soon as she can.

Seconds after arriving, Leatherface rams his chainsaw through Sally's gut, killing her!

If Melody and Lila didn't come to Harlow, a lot of good people, including the franchise's original heroine, wouldn't have chainsaw-shaped holes in their bodies.

Thanks, girls.
