10 Horror Movie Idiots Who Made Simple Solutions Look IMPOSSIBLE

The most basic rule when hiking in the creepy woods rumoured to play host to a mythical monster? Maybe don't throw your map away, yeah?

Well, that's precisely what Mike (Michael Williams) does mid-way through The Blair Witch Project, revealing that amid his frustration with the trio getting lost, he decided to kick their map into the creek, as naturally infuriates Heather (Heather Donahue) and Josh (Joshua Leonard).

Now to be completely fair to Mike, it does appear that the Blair Witch was manipulating the cursed woods in order to disorientate them, but even so, keeping hold of the map seems like a good idea, especially in the pre-smartphone era.

This isn't to say that keeping the map would've ensured their survival, but throwing it away is such a petulant, idiotic move when, depending on the ambiguous mechanics of the forest, it could have led them in the right direction at some point.
