10 Horror Movie Idiots Who Made Simple Solutions Look IMPOSSIBLE

8. NOT Going Back For AJ - Barbarian

Perhaps the most common complaint from horror fans about the recent cult hit Barbarian is that the character decisions of protagonist Tess (Georgina Campbell) are highly questionable.

And in complete fairness, that is the point to an extent - it's made abundantly clear that Tess has a problem going back to toxic men, as is very nearly her downfall here.

This proves most frustrating in the third act, when Tess finally manages to escape the murderous, mutant Mother residing in the bowels of her Airbnb house.

Yet Tess feels immense guilt over the fact that another person, AJ (Justin Long), is still held captive in the house, and with the police refusing to help her, she decides to return to the house to save him.

Though Tess does ultimately survive the events of the movie, it's only barely, given that the Mother soon enough catches up to the escaped duo, at which point AJ attempts to sacrifice Tess in order to save his own skin.

Tess could've avoided all this, as well as the unnecessary death of a local homeless man she sought refuge with, by just... getting in her car and driving the hell out of dodge the second she escaped.
