10 Horror Movie Killers We All Reluctantly Loved

8. Frankenstein's Monster

Freddy Krueger
Universal

This is probably an obvious one, but come on, this poor guy always gets called the villain of his movie and in actuality, he's not inherently evil.

Now, the people who make a case for it do have a point - after all, he did throw a girl into a lake - but, when you think about it from the standpoint of the movie, Frankenstein Monster really couldn't control his actions properly. He felt sympathy and guilt for the death of characters like Maria, because he thought he was continuing the game they were playing.

Of course, he is known as a classic Universal monster so most people will always see him as the true monster of the piece, despite the fact he is just a product of the man who created him. Really, if this was created in another time, he might not even carry the status of being a villain, probably just a misunderstood anti-hero.
