10 Horror Movie Mistakes Left In To Troll You

Neil Marshall's expertly crafted low-fi horror flick The Descent is centered around a group of six women who find themselves trapped inside an uncharted cave system while being stalked by primitive creatures known as "crawlers."

It's a film dripping with both atmosphere and suspense, and one which became accidentally creepier due to a little mistake which managed to sneak its way into the shoot.

Soon after the film hit cinemas, scattered reports emerged that a crawler could be seen in the caves early in the movie, before they actually make their first legit appearance.

This was "confirmed" when The Descent hit home video, where about 25 minutes into the film when a flare is lit, the bottom-left of the frame reveals a pale face peering out from behind a rock.

On the DVD commentary, writer-director Marshall actually admitted that this was a mistake, and that a crew member accidentally got caught on camera.

Yet because the man's face is just faint enough, it totally works within the context of the movie, that the crawlers were skulking around within earshot of the women before they made themselves known.

If you'd noticed it on your own, you'd surely just assume Marshall intentionally hid a crawler there to mess with the audience.
