10 Horror Movie Mistakes Left In To Troll You

Despite the tendency for horror fans to understandably turn their noses up at Hollywood remakes of beloved foreign language genre hits, Gore Verbinski's 2002 remake of The Ring was surprisingly pretty solid.

The bleak imagery is tough to forget, and Naomi Watts is terrific in the lead role, but there's also an extra added slice of creepiness for anyone paying close attention.

Late in the movie, Rachel (Watts) and her ex Noah (Martin Henderson) come back to her sister Ruth's (Lindsay Frost) house to collect their troubled son Aidan (David Dorfman).

For around a second, a shadowy figure can be seen standing in front of a window in the background, which was most certainly a crew member who didn't realise they were in the shot.

The almost Hitchcockian lighting makes the figure look extremely imposing, and so there was evidently no choice but to keep it in the final cut.

Though some have speculated that the shadow could be Ruth herself waiting for the family to leave, why would Verbinski intentionally frame and light her to look so damn creepy? It doesn't make much sense.
