10 Horror Movie Musicals You Simply Have To See

1. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Anna and the Apocalypse
Fox

Give yourself over to the absolute pleasure that is this iconic film.

Everything about Rocky Horror is perfect; the homages to old monster movies, the sudden and genuinely gross gore, the hypersexual androgyny, the choreography, the absolute f*cking BANGERS. I could go on!

And of course, Tim Curry as Dr Frank N’ Furter.

Curry exudes Frankenstein-like madness and sex appeal, making even the most conservative viewer think twice about fishnets and corsets. Effortlessly charming and always teetering on being frighteningly insane, Curry knocks it out of the bloody park in this role.

The rest of the cast are equally brilliant, from Meat Loaf’s Eddie to Susan Sarandon’s wide-eyed Janet. It all just fits together perfectly and is beloved the world over.

If Repo! has a passionate fanbase, Rocky Horror has a cult by comparison. People flock to cinema viewings of the film in costume and with props to fully engage with the story to this day. Rocky Horror is a true phenomenon, and the movie truly lives up to the hype.

If you have not seen it, come up to the lab and see what's on the slab. And if you have, do the Time Warp again and treat yourself to another viewing.
