10 Horror Movie Protagonists Who Kind Of Deserved To Die

8. The Firefly Family – The Devil’s Rejects

Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects is one of those morally confusing horror movies in which the antagonists also happen to be the protagonists which can ignite some rather conflicting feelings in us movie-watchers.

Though the Firefly family are a rather nasty bunch who won’t think twice about murdering almost anyone who crosses their path, you have to admit there’s something oddly touching about the relationship between these psychopaths. They’re the family that slays together and stays together and that’s kind of cute.

Not to mention that when the supposed ‘good guy’ is as reprehensible as Sheriff Wydell it’s kind of hard not to root for the villains, however unwillingly.

That said, the Firefly family can’t get away with killing all those innocents – thems the rules, after all – and by the finale they get their just deserts in a blood-splattered shootout that’s kind of sad and kind of satisfying but most of all wholly deserved after the killing spree they’ve just been on.
