10 Horror Movie Scenes Shot In A Single Take

9. Billboard Reveal - Jaws

If only the world's sharks knew how good they had it prior to 1975, AKA the year they were forever villainised by some no-good punk director.

Damn you, Spielberg!

Considering how memorable the water scenes are in Jaws, it's easy to forget how little of the film's action actually takes place on the big blue. The parts of the movie away from dry land were an absolute nightmare to film, as has been recounted many times, so you can see why the Close Encounters of the Third Kind director didn't want to faff around with fancy camera tricks while trying to shoot Bruce.

On the sand though, he could do whatever he wanted.

The conversation Chief Brody and Matt Hooper have with Mayor Vaughn about closing the beach is filmed in one long take. It's mostly static, but they do slowly make their way to a billboard, which someone has defaced to include a shark fin and a screaming tourist.

Though not a scary scene by any means, this is a testament to the acting prowess of Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, and Murray Hamilton, who had to handle some hefty diagloue without any breaks.
