Following critically acclaimed gems Get Out and Us, writer-director Jordan Peele's Nope is just as chilling and cerebral as his previous films.

His third feature film follows horse trainers OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) and his sister Emerald (Keke Palmer)as they attempt to capture an alien creature on camera after discovering it roaming the skies above their ranch. However, the siblings aren’t the only ones trying to capitalise on the creature’s existence. Nearby, former child celebrity Jupe (Steven Yeun) has been trying to train the alien to make it an attraction at his old west-flavoured theme park.

Unfortunately for him, he learns that wild animals aren’t so easily tamed.

In the film’s most horrifying scenes, Jupe, his family, and a collection of attendees watch in anticipation for the creature to appear. However, events take a dark turn when it arrives sooner than expected and devours everyone who's there.

What follows is a claustrophobic shot of the onlookers being gradually sucked up through the creature's innards as they scream in agony and terror, with no other choice but to wait for their eventual deaths. It's a short but highly effective scene that encapsulates the terror of what being eaten alive would feel like.
