10 Horror Movie Sequels Coming Out In 2021
4. Don't Breathe 2
The original 2016 Don’t Breathe was essentially a human The Quiet Place before the 'The Quiet Place' was even a thing.
It followed a group of home-intruders trying to escape a blind man’s wrath after breaking into his home to steal his little stash of three hundred thousand dollars. The money belonged to Nordstrom, a blind man who we would otherwise feel sorry for if only he hadn’t have turned out to be an absolute psycho with a woman locked in his basement.
The second instalment of this franchise is set to show him in a slightly more sympathetic light, somehow. He has been hiding for years in a secluded cabin raising an orphaned young girl, and when a group of people kidnap her, he has to go and ‘save her’.
Again… questionable morals here: are they kidnapping her or saving her?
Stephen Lang returns in his role as Nordstrom, whilst the co-writer of the first film, Rodo Sayagues, is taking the helm as director.
Set to reach audiences at an unspecified date in 2021, it’ll definitely be interesting to see what kind of angle Sayagues takes on presenting Nordstrom as either a hero or a villain…
