10 Horror Movie Sequels Coming Out In 2021

The original The Nun was released in 2018 and absolutely banged at the box office, becoming the highest grossing film in the Conjuring franchise straight away.

Untitled as of yet, this frightful follow-up is being written by Akela Cooper, perhaps known best for working on Netflix Marvel series, Luke Cage.

There are a few directions The Nun number 2 could take. Because the first Nun film took place before the first Conjuring, there are years of unexplored time between the end of the former and the beginning of the latter where we could see what Valak was doing out in the world before meeting the Warrens.

Alternatively, we could resume after the Conjuring 2. Whilst Lorraine Warren supposedly exorcised Valak back down to hell there’s always a little wiggle room for a powerful demon - who was maybe faking us out the whole time and could return from hell at any moment.

Producer Peter Safran has been speaking with excitement about the project right from the offset, telling Entertainment Weekly that they had a ‘fun’ storyline in store for audiences.

Whilst I wouldn’t really class a murderous, demonic nun as my idea of ‘fun’, I’ve got to appreciate the energy he’s bringing to it.
