10 Horror Movie Sequels That Are Practically Flawless

Sam Raimi is once again behind the camera and Bruce Campbell is once again grinning like a maniac in Evil Dead 2, sometimes known as Dead by Dawn.

This 1987 sequel to Raimi's original horror-comedy, The Evil Dead, this film sees Campbell's Ash Williams once again at the mercy of the Book of the Dead.

Instead of his friends from the first Evil Dead, Ash is this time joined by Annie Knowby, the daughter of the archaeologist responsible for digging up the book in the first place. Nice to see Annie taking responsibility for her pop's mess.

Whilst the first movie was a huge success and an instant classic, many fans, critics, and publications have called Evil Dead II the better of the two pictures.

Its special effects are more advanced, the gore is turned up to 11, and Campbell's portrayal of Ash is even better than it was before. It helped establish him as a horror icon and Raimi as a director to watch.

With another Evil Dead movie on the horizon right now, fans will be eager to see if they can capture the magic of this first sequel. Well, Bruce is confirmed for the cast, so they have a pretty good shot.
