10 Horror Movie Survivors Who Probably Died Soon After

2. Jen - Revenge

Prior to The Substance, Coralie Fargeat helmed a revenge thriller, fittingly called Revenge. After our heroine, Jen, is violently assaulted by three men, she's tossed off a cliff and impaled on a tree.

Refusing to give up, Jen licks her wounds and prepares to kill the trio. Though her tormentors put up one hell of a fight, Jen kills them all, resulting in a deeply satisfying ending. Or maybe not.

The level of punishment Jen endures is off the scale, to the point where almost no human being could withstand it (and that's before she starts hunting down her attackers). Wandering through the sweltering desert with limited water and no shade will take its toll on Jen's battered body, plus the film's climax sees her beaten, strangled, and sustaining deep lacerations and multiple gunshots.

Jen's lost so much blood by that finale, she shouldn't be able to walk. Sure, adrenaline can mask pain and delay collapse, but only for so long. Even though she cauterised her wounds, Jen should've developed a fatal infection, especially since she placed dirty metal on her gaping injuries.

In Revenge's very last scene, a helicopter can be heard in the distance, implying Jen will be rescued, but even if she's alive by the time she reaches a hospital, the chances of lasting the night are virtually zero.
