It's made clear early on in Gremlins 2: The New Batch that the new gremlin ringleader is Mohawk, who is very clearly supposed to be a reincarnation of Stripe, the main villain from the first film.

And though Mohawk reaches a fittingly terrifying Final Form when he drinks a spider serum and transforms into a gremlin-spider hybrid, he's actually dispatched a good while before the real climax. Mohawk gets his expedited comeuppance roughly 20 minutes before film's end when Gizmo, channelling his inner Rambo, fires a makeshift bow-and-arrow at spider-Mohawk, setting him ablaze and promptly killing him.

At this point, antagonist duties shift to the super-smart "Brain Gremlin," who leads the gremlins in their last stand - albeit in vain, as they're soon enough melted into green goo by a combination of water and electricity.

God bless Joe Dante for taking $50 million of Warner Bros.' money and making one of the most insane sequels Hollywood has ever produced - one where a spider-gremlin apparently wasn't wild enough for the finale.
