10 Horror Movie Villains Motivated By Love
1. Dracula - Bram Stoker's Dracula
On paper, vampires shouldn't be anywhere near the image of love hearts, kisses and sweetness. They are literally blood-sucking demons who prey on the innocent and live a life of evil.
Despite this, they're also the most romantic monsters out there by far, likely down to the sheer magnetism that the beasties have been depicted with. With that in mind, you can't get any more romantic than the OG himself, Dracula.
1992's Bram Stoker's Dracula is one of the best depictions of the iconic villain, and a big part of that is the stunning performance from Gary Oldman. He imbues the character with cartoonish villainy and an outward charm that makes him irresistible. He also makes all of his decisions based on love.
This version of Dracula became a vampire in the first place after desecrating a chapel, renouncing god and drinking blood from a cross. All this was in response to his wife being damned to hell after committing suicide.
From there, as a vampire, he lives a reclusive life until he meets Johnathan Harker and believes his fiancé is the reincarnation of his dead/damned lover. This causes him to go on a mission to find her and proves that even a devil can have love on the brain.
