This article thus far has talked about the kind of love that occurs between two people, the romantic sort. But, as everyone knows, that's not the only form of loving that exists, and there is perhaps nothing more powerful than a mother's love. It can make you do crazy things, like lift cars, climb mountains and kill a bunch of lustful teens. Wait, what?

Yes, Pamela Voorhees is one of the most infamous examples of a mother in horror. She's the incredibly unexpected monster behind the killings in the first Friday the 13th movie. Although her actions are entirely inexcusable, you can at least, in some morbid way, understand where she's coming from.

This is a woman who loved her son and had to suffer losing him, thanks to the negligence of some teenage camp leaders who decided to get frisky rather than do their jobs. Violent murder is never the answer, but still, it was her love for her son that drove her to seek revenge against those who she deemed needed punishment.
