10 Horror Movie Villains Who Returned More Badass

9. The Xenomorphs - Aliens

The idea of improving upon Ridley Scott’s classic sci-fi horror Alien would have seemed impossible in the year it was released.

The battle between the crew of the Nostromo and their unwanted stowaway is as gripping now as it was back in 1979, and that was with only one Xenomorph involved. Now imagine a whole planet full of them!

Aliens, the spectacularly-titled 1986 sequel directed by James Cameron, once again pits Sigourney Weaver against the face-hugging, acid-bleeding creatures, only this time they have taken over a human terraforming colony and slaughtered the inhabitants.

While the single Xenomorph in the first movie was a sly hunter picking off its prey from the shadows, in greater numbers, these guys are not afraid to charge headlong into battle. They have an environmental and numbers advantage, which makes them even more terrifying.

This is the Xenomorphs at their most powerful, especially when the humans are introduced to their queen. She’s like the first monster Ripley encountered, only a million times nastier.

Scott might have introduced them to the world, but Cameron helped cement the Xenomorphs as cinematic icons.
