10 Horror Movie Villains Who Were... Kind Of Right
9. Jaws (1975) - Bruce The Shark
“Jaws? But how can a shark be right?” Well, in plenty of ways you fictional fool. The original blockbuster, Jaws, is a frequent topic of conversation when it comes to horror killers who just can’t catch a break. Before we even get into this: it’s a shark. That should be enough for you. If you don’t want to die, don’t get in the ocean, dummy.
Going further though, the true villain of Jaws is Larry Vaughn, mayor of Amity Island, the town where citizens are being attacked by the film’s titular shark. After a woman is killed whilst skinny-dipping, police chief Martin Brody strongly suggests to Vaughn that they close down beaches because, you know, sharks kill people. But this absolute dingus of a mayor decides that a few deaths are worth it so the town doesn’t lose revenue from tourists.
And then... any takers? Many more people die. Who could’ve seen that coming? In the end, it’s almost a shame when the shark is killed. It’s not his fault, he’s just doing what his instincts are telling him to do. Even a rampaging scarily-smart shark is still just an animal.
