One of the granddaddies of the slasher genre and the white rubber face of horror the world over, Michael Myers donned his modified William Shatner mask in 1978 and hasn’t taken it off since. Well, maybe a couple of times as it’s probably a bit sweaty in there, but the point still stands that Halloween has persevered long after its initial shelf life, and is still releasing films to this day.

Myers is famed for his calm, emotionless demeanour as he goes around casually stabbing people in all kinds of scenarios, the babysitter bandit having no shame for taking people out in their homes, or hot tubs, and employing everything from electrocution to corn threshers to get his work done. Whilst obviously sadistic and psychologically unstable, he’s perhaps the most frightening killer on this list purely for the fact he’s the only one sick enough to kill two very good boys: dogs. And then eat them.
