If we wanna get all philosophical and weird about it, then it could be argued that Death has the largest filmography of any character ever.

However, the most famous film series in which the Reaper takes centre stage is coming back. So let's just focus on that before we make ourselves sad.

The most recent Final Destination film, Final Destination 5, is actually the best one, if Rotten Tomatoes is anything to go by. That movie came out in 2011, which led many to believe that the franchise had chosen to go out on a high.

Not the case!

A sequel to number five was discussed almost immediately after it was released, but things finally started moving in 2019 when a "reboot" of the series was announced. In 2020, it was revealed that the plot would revolve around the world of first responders, which is an intriguing prospect to say the least.

Covid delayed the shooting of the movie, but things seem to be back on track now and the movie looks set to be released in 2023.

Is the world ready for a traumatic movie about emergency services in the wake of a deadly pandemic? Probably not, but let's do it anyway.
