3. Pazuzu
In spite of its very silly name, Pazuzu the demon is one of horror's most important antagonists.
As the demon that possessed young Regan Macneil in The Exorcist, Pazuzu is responsible for hundreds of viewers leaving the cinema in disgust during the film's original run.
He helped create some of the scariest moments in film history and his legacy somehow remains intact even in the face of several dodgy Exorcist sequels.

Yes, unfortunately, an Exorcist reboot is in the works. Serial horror re-worker David Gordon Green will take the helm of this movie, which will see the father of a possessed child seek out the Macneil family for help.
The world of William Peter Blatty hasn't been adapted for the screen since the Exorcist TV show in 2017, and the last visit to Blattyland before that was 2004's Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist.
However, as we already mentioned, most of what followed the original film was a lot of demonic doo-doo. The first Exorcist film is such a classic that it's such a shame the story has been watered down with subpar sequels.
Maybe this new version will be the exception, but history is not on its side.
