1. Renfield
Yet there's possibly one horror film releasing next year that might be able to rival M3gan on the insanity front, and that's Renfield.
This horror-comedy from Chris McKay (The Lego Ninjago Movie, The Tomorrow War) follows Count Dracula's (Nicolas Cage) lackey Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) as he finds love in modern day New Orleans.
On one hand Renfield is an original idea cooked up by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, and on the other, you've got Nic freakin' Cage playing Dracula. This sells itself, right?
Beyond Cage and Nicholas Hoult, the supporting cast includes Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, and Shohreh Aghdashloo, ensuring this should be one of 2023's most hilariously unhinged horrors.
We know that Nic Cage can deliver the vampiric goods - check out Vampire's Kiss, pictured above - but from the spy photos taken on the movie's set, showing Cage in a crushed velvet suit and deathly pale makeup, he's going to give us a rendition of the Count like we've never seen before.
Renfield releases on April 14.
