9. Ashley Bell's Back Bends Were Real - The Last Exorcism

Watching the human body contort itself into some truly unnatural positions will forever leave audiences wincing in their seats.

This has been achieved in a variety of ways on-screen over the decades, with 2017's It actually mostly using CGI to produce the horrifying image of Pennywise unfolding itself out of a refrigerator, for example. And then you have Daniel Stamm's The Last Exorcist, a film that instead just opted to let Ashley Bell do her seriously unsettling thing when the cameras began to roll.

With Bell playing Nell Margaret Sweetzer, a woman who is seemingly possessed by a demon, the actor was able to use her talent for twisting her own frame into some freakish shapes to fully convince audiences her character's body had been well and truly taken over.

When Nell is seen performing an insane and quite shocking back bend mid-exorcism, that was all Bell. Those entirely inhuman neck twists? Again, no digital effects or make-up was needed, with the actor executing all these moves for real on set... and thoroughly creeping out her castmates in the process (via Yahoo).
