10 Horror Movies Scenes Shot For Real

8. The Opening Branding Was Done On Someone For Real - Skinned Deep

Released back in 2004, low-budget horror comedy Skinned Deep may not have gone down in history as one of the most celebrated pictures the genre has ever produced, but it definitely boasts one of the most unsettling opening shots you'll ever see.

Before anyone is split in half by the metal-mouthed "Surgeon General", the movie gets underway with an intro which just so happens to include the visual of someone's skin being branded with the letters "S" and "D" - you know, the initials of the title.

But rather than pull off this shot with a prosthetic arm or by using some other form of movie magic, you know what director Gabriel Bartalos did? Hired someone from a fetishist site to have this intense act done to them for real. Yup.

The ad apparently read â€œhuman canvas wanted", according to IMDb.

Thankfully, the same couldn't be said for some of the other more unhinged sequences seen going down in this barmy ride of a movie, with gruesome moments like the Brain's head gradually peeling open, for example, being the result of some quite surreal practical effects... hopefully.
