5. Gordon's Foot Grows Back - Saw

In Saw, Dr. Lawrence Gordon awakens to find himself chained to a wall, after being captured by the serial killer, Jigsaw. When he learns his family have been kidnapped by Jigsaw's underling, Zepp, Gordon realises his wife and daughter will die unless he does something drastic. Left with no choice, Gordon saws his foot off.

Due to the shoestring budget, the movie uses sneaky camera angles to give the impression Gordon is an amputee. Even though this effect is hard to pull off without green-screen or CGI, the movie hides Gordon's intact leg very well... for the most part.

When Zepp enters the room, Gordon attacks him, demanding to know the whereabouts of his family. While the pair are having this heated argument, Gordon's two feet are completely visible for a good ten seconds.

In the movie's defence, the actor portraying Gordon (Cary Elwes) tries to obscure his non-dismembered limb with the cuff of his trousers. Too bad this strategy doesn't work, since the bottom of Gordon's trousers is... y'know... foot-shaped.

Saw may have one of the most showstopping climaxes in the history of horror, but this egregious mistake almost ruins it.
