10 Horror Movies That Dared To Kill Kids

5. It - Why'd It Have To Be Clowns?

While Bill Skarsgard is going to try his best to make you wet your pants in the upcoming It remake, Tim Curry will always be the poster boy for coulrophobia. Pennywise, a diabolical entity that feeds on children, is arguably one of the creepiest clowns ever committed to film,

While the entire plot hinges on the titular It setting up shop in a sleepy town in Maine, preying on kids, the first death that the audience witnesses is pretty gut wrenching. Georgie, the young brother of one of the main characters, is outside playing with a newspaper boat on a rainy day. The boat gets swept away and down into the sewer. Georgie runs after it and is confronted by a colourful clown, oddly hanging out in the sewer. The clown beckons Georgie to reach into the sewer drain to retrieve his boat, and when he does, the clown grabs onto his arm and bears razor sharp teeth.

We never see what happens, but we learn that Georgie’s dead body was found with his arm ripped off. We’ll never look at sewer drains, or any drain for that matter, the same way again.
