10 Horror Movies That Deserve A Remake (And Why)

5. The Monster Squad

Look at that picture, just look at it. Icons of the silver screen, the Golden Age of Horror all united. How could anyone not want to see something like that. Granted, everyone who rejected Universal's Dark Universe, but that's not the goal here.

The Monster Squad was a 1985 film in which a rag-tag group of teens must band together to prevent the forces of evil from rising up and conquering the world. Obviously, the only way to do that is open up a hole into the ream of Limbo with a magical amulet. Again, obviously. Along the way, they'll befriend Frankenstein's Monster, attempt to translate the diary of Abraham Van Helsing, and kick the Wolf Man right in his full moons.

Stranger Things has proven there is a strong desire for 80's nostalgia like the Goonies, and the idea of young heroes fighting against the world while adults are oblivious. Kids always like pushing the boundaries of what they're allowed to watch, and the Monster Squad is ideal for something like that. Atmospheric enough to be creepy, but campy enough to be fun, this film would be the fantastic for a younger audience that is fascinated by horror but not old enough to see more adult films.
