10 Horror Movies That Have Never Officially Been Released

3. The Coll3cted

The Collector 3

The Collector is a 2009 release about a burglar who breaks into the wrong house and is forced to confront the sinister entity that dwells within. It did well enough to get a sequel, The Collection, in 2012 and a third film was all ready to go. Until it wasn't.

Production on The Collected (stylised very cleverly as The Coll3cted) did get under way in 2019 but was suspended after just eight days of work. Several years on and it still hasn't restarted, leaving the series in limbo.

Creators Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan gave an interview to The Thing With Two Heads podcast claiming that they had tried and failed to reach the producers of the movie to ask what was going on.

They claimed that props from the film had been stolen and said that they were unable to restart production as they did not own the rights to the series.

This is a real bummer for fans of the existing two movies, as the second picture ended on a cliffhanger. The irony of a series called "The Collection" being unfinished is tragic, but it is also quite funny.
