10 Horror Movies That Mock You For Paying Attention
1. Jigsaw's Sketched Confession Spoils The Twist - Saw
Much like Midsommar, the very first Saw offers up a spoilerific troll-job early on for those paying extremely close attention.
Though the film's epic twist ending reveals that the Jigsaw Killer was in fact one of Dr. Gordon's (Cary Elwes) terminally ill patients all along, John Kramer (Tobin Bell), this fact is basically spelled out for anyone looking in the right corner of the screen early on.
In an early flashback, we actually see Gordon doing rounds at the hospital and briefly observing Kramer at his bedside, where on Kramer's desk he has sketched what is very clearly the reverse-bear trap Amanda (Shawnee Smith) is shown strapped in a few scenes later.
Basically, if you're eagle-eyed enough to catch this, you're probably going to know what's up when Amanda shows up in the trap a few minutes later.
And really, what better proof is that there that sometimes it's more rewarding to just sit back, relax, and not try to scrutinise every aspect of a movie - not on a first viewing, anyway.
