10 Horror Movies That Open With One Amazing Kill

4. Heart Eyes

Josh Ruben's so-called rom-com centres around a masked killer who targets lovey-dovey couples and anyone associated with them. Although horror-comedies sometimes tone down the violence, Heart Eyes deserves its 18-rating almost instantly.

When the titular psycho sees a man called Patrick proposing to his girlfriend, Adeline, they become his latest targets. Though he disposes of Patrick quickly, that's not the case with Adeline. Desperate to hide from the masked lunatic, Adeline hides inside a grape presser. (Horror veterans should know where this scene is going the moment she steps into this machine.)

When Heart Eyes finds her, he has the opportunity to stab her then and there. Instead of giving her a swift death, he activates the presser, causing the massive slabs inside to close in.

This moment is agonising to watch since Adeline has no means of escape, forcing her to look at the slabs moving towards her at a snail's pace. Adeline lets out a bloodcurdling scream as the slabs grind her to mush, causing her eye to burst out of her skull.

Although slasher villains can be over-the-top with their kills, Heart Eyes proved right away that he's on another level.
