10 Horror Movies That Put Insane Effort Into Details Nobody Noticed

Professional demon botherers and crimplene advocates Ed and Lorraine Warren have their very own multi-movie horror universe, exemplified in The Conjuring and regurgitated in Annabelle, but all guaranteed to have the popcorn flying high with plenty of jump scares from director James Wan.

With The Conjuring 3 due to hit cinemas in 2021, audiences can expect more brow furrowing from Wilson and lots more screaming (she suffered from swollen lymph nodes through having to scream on cue fifty times in a row) from Farmiga.

2016's The Conjuring 2 has an interesting hidden detail, one specifically pertaining to the movie's shadowy villain, Valak who'd also star in the then-unreleased spin-off The Nun.

At the start of the film, the name appears upon the kitchen window sill, in brightly coloured letters made from paper or cardboard. Again in the kitchen where the word 'ALAK' can be seen scratched into the woodwork against the wall - the missing letter 'V' can be seen above on a heart shaped decoration, completing the name Valak.

In the Warren's living room, upon the large bookcase behind Lorraine, there are five large golden letters that spell Valak and if that's not enough for fans, their daughter Judy is making a bracelet that spells out, you guessed it, Valak.

It's a cool detail, but it becomes even more important because knowing the demon's name is key to her defeat - and yet there it was, in front of our heroes the whole time.
