Marriage is a beautiful thing that can give two soulmates the chance to live happily. But unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to live a life free of heartbreak, and there's nothing worse than the loss of a child. Only a strong marriage can help you through something like that, but it can also reveal things you wish you never knew.

Antichrist - a movie from the degenerate mind of Lars Von Trier - features a husband (Willem Dafoe) and a wife (Charlotte Gainsbourg).

During a passionate night of love-making, their infant son breaks free from his cot and, tragically, falls to his death out of an open window. The couple tries to repair their fractured marriage by retreating to their cabin in the woods, but things soon take a dark, and violent, turn.

The movie is utterly gruelling, as Gainsbourg's performance as she grows increasingly unstable makes you fear what kind of secrets someone you thought you knew could be hiding.

To make matters worse, the violence becomes so grotesque that you'll cross your legs and squeal in disgust. It's an unapologetically tough watch, but one you can't miss if you like disturbing (and artsy) flicks.
