10 Horror Movies Too Scary To Finish Watching
1. Terrified (2017)
Oh boy, does this horror movie pack one hell of a punch!
Terrified is an Argentinian horror that really lives up to its namesake. It's a profoundly frightening and clever film that plays with plenty of traditional horror tropes but presents them in a way that makes them feel fresh and original.
The narrative follows the neighbourhood residents of a town in Buenos Aires. You're shown a couple of vignettes of unsettling paranormal occurrences, leading to investigators banding together to find answers. There's a decent narrative, but it's the supernatural scares that really sell the film.
One keen example of the film's genius shows as the body of a recently deceased child returns to its home and sits at a table. Two investigators come into the room and discuss the event, with the body framed in the background. It lingers there, filling you with palpable anxiety and dread as your eye is constantly drawn to it, wondering if it will move or not.
The whole film is full of similar creativity, painting the picture of a movie so scary you won't sleep for weeks.
