10 Horror Movies Where The Final Girl Should Have Died

1. Eleanor - Truth Or Die

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

There are certain qualities every final girl should have, such as purity, resilience, and relatability. However, none of those factors matter if the character isn't likeable.

That's why it's so frustrating how the final girl of Truth or Die happens to be the most despicable character possible. In the opening, several friends are invited to a party by an acquaintance, Justin. He then reveals one of them drove his brother, Felix, to suicide shortly after playing Truth or Dare.

Although each member of the group is flawed, nobody's worse than Eleanor. She's self-absorbed, manipulative, toxic, spoilt, and sadistic.

But it gets worse. While Justin is at Eleanor's mercy, she admits she recorded Felix performing oral sex on her boyfriend, before blackmailing him with the footage. Out of shame, Felix took his life.

Well, he tried to. We find out Felix survived his suicide attempt, but has been left paralysed. Not that it matters, since Eleanor blows him and Justin up with a grenade.

Although Justin is meant to be the villain, all he wanted was to avenge his brother. Because his motivation is completely understandable, you are 100% rooting for him. At no point are you on Eleanor's side (and that's way before you find out what a monster she is).

Annoyingly, the ending could've worked if Justin succeeded at murdering Eleanor, so she got what she deserved. But since Eleanor gets away with murder scot-free, the film leaves you feeling angry.
