10 Horror Movies Where The Reshoots Were Obvious
2. Army Of Darkness
There is admittedly a seat-of-the-pants charm to the original Evil Dead trilogy, that director Sam Raimi was less concerned with continuity than he was serving up a deliriously unhinged good time. And that he certainly did.
Even so, the third film, Army of Darkness, features an amusingly obvious continuity error which came about as a result of reshoots.
When Ash (Bruce Campbell) rides through the haunted forest and races towards the windmill, a number of close-up insert shots reveal his hair to be noticeably shorter than in the rest of the movie.
While Campbell had a healthy mop of hair for the bulk of the film, these inserts were shot two months after principal photography wrapped, when Campbell seemingly had his hair cut.
Either because Raimi couldn't find a suitable wig or the continuity checker failed to account for this, you can literally see Ash's hair change length between shots as he rides through the forest.
It's certainly nowhere near as egregious a screw-up as most of the entries on this list, though, and honestly pretty funny.
